Auxiliary Eligibility


 If you have relative who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibility dates and is a member of The American Legion, you may join the American Legion Auxiliary of The American Legion.  However, if the qualifying veteran is deceased you may join the appropriate organization, even if the qualifying veteran was not a member of The American Legion when living.   Under 18 years old? Girls with the same eligibility can join the JR. AUXILIARY.  It is a great program and allows them to join in helping our Veterans and assisting with events.

Complete the application and include the required documentation to proudly join the AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY UNIT 208.  Yearly membership fee is Senior $26.00/Juniors $6.00. 

Eligible Relatives

Mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, granddaughters, great- granddaughters, and grandmothers of those who served in the Armed Forces of the United States during the elegibility periods listed below. 

Required Documentation

Proof of membership in the American Legion and a copy of their DD-214 (discharge papers) for those who served in the Armed Forces.  If the qualifying veteran is deceased, it is not a requirement to have been a member of the American Legion.  You must submit a DD-214 (discharge paper) and a copy of the death certificate.

Eligibility Dates

World War I - April 6, 1917 to November 11, 1918

World War II - December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946

Korean War - June 25, 1950 to January 31, 1955

Vietnam War - February 28, 1961 to may 7, 1975

Lebanon/Grenada - August 24, 1982 to July 31, 1984

Panama - December 20, 1989 to January 31, 1990

Operation Desert Shield/Storm/Gulf War/ War on Terrorism

August 2, 1990 to date of cessation

U.S. Merchant Marines - Served between December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946
